Linux

A makefile for compiling the library under Linux is present: Makefile.linux. This makefile is almost identical to the one for Sun workstations. It differs from the makefile for Sun in that it uses GCC and that for Linux the sys/bell.c functions do not function. When SPRLIB is compiled using make shared, a shared library libspr_linux.so.1.0 is made. This works only on Linux systems version 1.2.13 or later supporting ELF binaries. Note: Makefile.linux.DBG creates a library compiled with the -g compiler flag, so that programs using it can be debugged with a debugger (gdb/xxgdb/ddd). The debug version is called sprg_linux.a.
