Statistical pattern recognition library

A set-up similar to the neural network simulation environment had already been developed for statistical pattern recognition experiments [Schmidt 1992]. Because this library was developed before the interest in neural networks emerged, some of the important data structures are the same as used in the neural networks part of the library.

In this chapter it is explained which the data structures and supporting library routines are necessary for the use of functions from the library. Furthermore, the implemented statistical pattern recognition methods found in this part of the library will be discussed.
